TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED BY DEAF PEOPLE IN TANZANIA
These problems result in isolation and stigmatisation of Deaf people within their communities, and as a result, they tend to be among the poorest.

Deaf people are more likely to have incomes below the poverty line and have no assets to cushion themselves against shocks, they are more vulnerable socially and economically.

SING LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
This programme aims to increase awareness and usage of Tanzanian Sign Language (TSL) amongst Deaf and hearing people. This is achieved through provision of sign language training, co-ordination of an interpretation service, undertaking TSL research and production of the TSL Dictionary and other related materials.
