POVERTY REDUCTION PROJECT

The objective of this project is to enhance self reliance of the Tanzanian Deaf, especially women and youths in the 7 project regions of Kagera, Kigoma, Singida, Mtwara, Lindi, Kilimanjaro and Arusha. SIGN LANGUAGE TRAINING AND ADVOCACY PROJECT IN TANZANIA

The objective of this project is to strengthen sign language development in Tanzania at district levels through training sign language  to trainers, deaf people, parents of deaf and service providers. The targeted areas of the project are all 17 officially opened regional branches of Singida, Lindi, Mtwara, Morogoro, Tanga, Musoma, Bukoba, Songea, Iringa, Kinondoni, Arusha, Moshi, Kibaha, Mbeya, Kigoma, Tabora, Dodoma, Shinyanga, na Ilemela. The project is funded by The Foundation  for Civil Society Limited (FCS)

SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS TO YOUTHS PROJECT

This project aims at sensitizing deaf youths girls to boys aged 10 to 24 years on sexual health rights and equipping them with life skills for combating HIV/AIDS and poverty. The project also focuses on lobbying and advocating the inclusion of deaf peoples’ needs to local government plans by conducting round table discussions with municipal officers to discuss inclusions of deaf peoples’ needs in their projects. The targeted area of the project are the districts of Ilala and Kinondoni in Dar es Salaam region and Iringa Municipal. The project is funded by African Medical Research Foundation (AMREF)
